Welcome to Ark Veterinary Hospital, your trusted source for safe, comfortable pet boarding in Charlotte. Our experienced veterinary team ensures your pet's well-being while you're away.

Understanding Pet Boarding

Pet boarding at Ark Veterinary Hospital provides your pet with attentive care, a secure environment, and daily interaction from trained animal professionals. Whether your pet needs a place to stay for a weekend getaway or an extended trip, our veterinary team delivers peace of mind by prioritizing your companion’s comfort, health, and happiness.

Unlike traditional kennels, veterinary-supervised boarding means your pet benefits from ongoing observation, immediate access to medical care if needed, and daily routines tailored to their needs. Our facility is equipped to accommodate dogs, cats, exotic pets, and even farm animals, reflecting our commitment to all species.

During their stay, pets enjoy clean, climate-controlled accommodations, regular exercise, nutritious meals, and plenty of attention from our caring staff. Veterinary boarding also means your pet’s health needs, such as medication administration or special diets, are managed with precision. Pet boarding in Charlotte allows you to travel with confidence, knowing your pet is receiving expert care every day.

What to Expect During Pet Boarding

Our goal is to make your pet’s stay as stress-free and enjoyable as possible. Here’s what you and your pet can expect when boarding at Ark Veterinary Hospital:

Personalized Check-In and Health Assessment

Every boarding visit begins with a tailored check-in process and a brief health assessment. Our veterinary professionals review your pet’s medical history, current medications, and any special needs. This ensures your pet receives the right level of care and allows us to address any health concerns before their stay begins.

Comfortable, Species-Appropriate Accommodations

We offer clean, climate-controlled boarding areas designed for dogs, cats, and exotic pets. Each pet has their own secure, spacious space with bedding, fresh water, and regular cleaning. Our team provides daily monitoring for signs of stress or illness, and we adjust routines to help every guest feel at home.

Daily Exercise, Play, and Enrichment

Pets boarding in our Charlotte facility receive regular exercise, playtime, and enrichment activities suited to their species and temperament. Dogs enjoy supervised walks and playgroups, while cats have quiet areas for relaxation. Exotic pets and farm animals benefit from species-specific routines. Our team ensures every pet gets the stimulation and attention they need.

Veterinary Oversight and Medication Administration

Our veterinarians, including Dr. Sarah Blackwell and Dr. Kevin Scruggs, oversee all boarding guests. If your pet requires medication, special diets, or monitoring for chronic conditions, our staff is trained to follow your instructions precisely. Immediate medical attention is available if any health issues arise during your pet’s stay.

Why Pet Boarding is Important for Your Pet

Veterinary-supervised pet boarding in Charlotte provides critical peace of mind and ensures your pet’s safety when you travel. Our team’s expertise means your pet’s health, comfort, and emotional well-being are always our top priorities.

Safe, Secure Environment

Our facility is designed with pet safety in mind. Secure enclosures, climate control, and round-the-clock monitoring protect your pet from unexpected hazards and provide a comfortable environment for all species.

Expert Care and Immediate Medical Attention

With a veterinary team on-site, pets receive professional care and immediate intervention if a health concern arises. This is especially important for pets with medical needs or those requiring medication during boarding.

Reduced Stress and Personalized Attention

Our team gets to know each pet’s personality and needs, reducing anxiety and supporting a positive boarding experience. Regular interaction and enrichment help your pet feel at ease while apart from their family.

Signs Your Pet May Need Boarding

Boarding is ideal for pets whose owners are traveling or who cannot receive adequate care at home. If you notice any of the following situations, consider veterinary boarding for your pet:

• You’re planning travel or an extended absence
• Your pet needs daily medication or specialized care
• No reliable pet sitter is available
• Your pet becomes anxious or destructive when left alone
• You have exotic or farm animals with unique care needs

If you’re unsure whether boarding is right for your pet, our team is happy to answer your questions and recommend the best solution. Contact us to discuss your pet’s needs.

How Often Should Your Pet Receive Boarding?

There’s no set schedule for pet boarding; it’s typically used whenever you’re away and unable to provide care at home. Some pets benefit from short boarding stays as a trial run before longer trips, especially if they are new to boarding or have separation anxiety.

If your pet requires regular medication, monitoring, or has special dietary needs, veterinary-supervised boarding is always the safest choice. We recommend scheduling boarding as needed, and our team can help you plan for your pet’s comfort and well-being whenever you travel.
